Breeding

First things first...
Nobody likes to see Pokemon without homes, even if they're imaginary. Make sure you have room for the babies before you breed!

Second, keep these rules in mind:
Tiny Pokeball By Xuntitledusernamex-d4qykdl by SilverCrossPokemon Each Member can breed Pokemon twice a month.
Tiny Pokeball By Xuntitledusernamex-d4qykdl by SilverCrossPokemon Each Pokemon can be bred however many times in a row you'd like.
Tiny Pokeball By Xuntitledusernamex-d4qykdl by SilverCrossPokemon Each 'Special' Pokemon (AKA Shiny/Mutant/Hybrid) can breed once every two weeks. Unless it is a Legendary Pokemon. Legends may only breed once a month.
The week begins on Sunday and ends on Saturday. The Month begins on the 1st and ends on the... last day. This means you can technically breed a Pokemon on Saturday, wait one week and one day, then breed that same Pokemon on Sunday. (8 days, as opposed to 14) It also means that you can breed a Legendary on the 31st and the 1st, but we will stare at you with all sorts of looks.

When you receive your Clutch, you must Reply with a list of what Pokemon you are keeping (for yourself or to sell) in it with the following format:
Species - Gender - Potential (Shiny/Mutant?)

Example:
If you get...
1 Houndour / 2 Growlithe
2 Male / 1 Female
1 Shiny / 0 Mutant
50 Potential

I am keeping:
Houndour - F - 50 (Shiny)
Growlithe - M - 50
Growlithe - M - 50

They will be added to your Pokemon List and take up box space. Therefore you are also limited by the amount of space you have on your Pokemon list.

Breedings can result in 1-3 Eggs, unless you have received a Responsible Breeder Ribbon, in which case you may receive 1-5 Eggs.
Breedings can take up to two weeks to be rolled, sometimes even more if we are backed up. Be patient.
Do not reply to your own note before a mod does, the note will show up as read and we may not know to check and roll your breeding request.  If you do reply to your own note before we do, and someone catches it, you will be asked to resend your note, thus sending you back to the end of the line.

What you Need

A Male Pokemon with a reference sheet that is at least Level 10.
A Female Pokemon with a reference sheet that is at least Level 10.
Well, that was simple, wasn't it? Species doesn't matter technically, though specific breeders may have their own requirements. When breeding with another Member's Pokemon, it helps to figure out ahead of time what you're going to do with the litter.

Getting your Clutch

Send the group a Note in this format.

Using Items? (Please include any and all items/ribbons you may be using; when using a mega x potion, fallen star, or any other such items, please make any specifications the item might require, such as the pokemon it is being used on.)

Please note that there are only 10 attack slots because we only roll 10 for each parent.  So if your pokemon has more than 10 please only choose 10 you would want to pass on.  Also do not list anything other than the attack, just the attack; we can see on their refs where they came from.

Links must be clickable!  If they are not you will be asked to resend the note, putting you back at the end of the line.
This may not seem like much, but it takes extra time to copy and paste link, and breedings are a pain as is.  Save us some time and help breeding run smoother, make your links clickable.

Once we've received this note, we will respond with a note containing The number of offspring, species of offspring (litters can be mixed), gender ratio of offspring, their Potential, and if any of them are Shiny or Mutated. If the parents have learned any attacks, then there is a chance those moves will be passed down to the entire litter.

Make sure you link your breeding note to the clutch it corresponds with if the babies have Appeal, else the Appeal will not count!

That's one reason to train your Pokemon first, the other is...

Potential

A Pokemon's Potential is determined at birth, and can not be improved through normal means. All Starter Pokemon and Pokemon not obtained by breeding have a Potential of 1. When you breed two trained Pokemon, however, the offspring will have more potential.

The formula is:
(Mother's Level + Father's Level + Mother's Potential + Father's Potential) / 2

So if you breed two Starter Pokemon (with a Potential of 1) and they are at level 10, then the offspring will all have 11 Potential. There is a cap, however, set at 100. No Pokemon can have more than 100 Potential.

Why does it matter?
If you participate in Group-hosted Contests, Potential has an effect on your Pokemon's final score. We add together their Level, Potential, and a Randomly Generated Number between 1 and 100 to determine the winners, so a Pokemon with higher Potential has the advantage over one without.
If you don't participate in Group Contests, then it might not matter to you at all.

Note on Hybrids
So, you can breed any two Pokemon together of opposite gender. Can you mix together the babies instead of getting some of Pokemon A and some of Pokemon B? Yes and no. Normally, you will not get any hybrid Pokemon in a breeding, even if one of the parents is a hybrid. Under normal circumstances, you will always get babies of one breed or another.

However, if you use a Hybrid Potion for the breeding, at least one of the babies will be a blend of all species involved in the breeding. We will inform you of the results via the Breeding Note. How you mix the two breeds is up to you, but it is worth noting that a Hybrid can never be shiny or mutated.

Important Note: Stats of the Offspring are SET when the clutch is rolled, and cannot be altered by training the sire or dam after the fact.

Appeal

Appeal is another stat that is determined at breeding, however, unlike potential, appeal may be raised after it is first set.

All pokemon start with 0 appeal, unless they get it from their parents.

How can my pokemon earn appeal?
Some items, contests, or random events may give appeal.

How do I track appeal?
Appeal should be tracked just like exp, in a log on the pokemon's ref.  All appeal should be linked and tallied appropriately, even the appeal they earn from their clutch.

So no hybrids can be shiny?
